We hired the DB Orchestra to play our wedding reception and it was one of the best decisions we made about the entire wedding weekend. First, in the weeks and months leading up to the wedding, the bandleader made sure all of our favorites were on the playlist, he met us at the venue to make sure it was a good fit, and he went the extra mile arranging some tunes that were special to us. The Hot 5 set a great mood during the cocktail hour and when it came time to dance, the Orchestra was an absolute hit. The dance floor was packed until the last note and all night (and ever since), all we heard from our guests was how great the band was. In fact, several of our friends told us it was the best band they had ever seen at a wedding. For our first dance, we had planned to dance to a recorded song. When technical difficulties with the venue’s AV systems got in the way, the DBO sprang into action and played a beautiful arrangement of another song—it ended up being a better first dance than we had planned, thanks to the DB Orchestra. We can’t recommend the DB Orchestra strongly enough and we’re already looking forward to the next time we’re lucky enough to be on the dance floor in front of them!

“I always knew I wanted an actual BAND at my wedding reception.  So after my engagement, my UW-attending younger brother told me his friend had a swing band called the DB Orchestra & I should check them out.  After seeing them preform “Friend Like Me” from Aladdin once in Madison, I was sold!  Having them play at our wedding reception was absolutely once of the best decisions we could have made – they were just a sheer joy.  Everyone, and I mean everyone, at our wedding gushed about how it was one of the most fun receptions they had ever been to.  The dance floor was packed from the first song until their last (and then a little bit after that!) and there were even times when I had trouble finding room on the dance floor for myself!  Andrew was a delight to work with and he generously did some special arrangements just for us, including Lady Gaga,Toto, and Disney.  They were even willing to play the Notre Dame Fight song for us (with some Sconnie flair, I believe)!  Needless to say, the variety of songs was a great hit.  I was a band kid myself in college and it was so wonderful to see a bunch of 20-something young men and women having so much fun doing what they love – making music and giving people a reason to dance.  I can’t emphasize enough how great they all were!”

One member of the band was known to us, and her parents suggested that we checked them out; so we contacted them and basically took a leap of faith when booking the band for our party. None of our guests had ever heard of the DB Orchestra, but they now have scores of new fans. EVERYONE loved them, young and old alike! The band’s music and style appeals to a wide range of listeners, they perform classics and modern tunes (with their own interpretations), their sound is amazing, they are professional in their appearance and demeanor, and the cost is very reasonable.” We would definitely hire the DB Orchestra again, and highly recommend them for parties, weddings, or any occasion.
